Local Shows

I do a few local shows each year. If you are in the Boise area you can see my work in person at the following events:

Year round Studio Visits

Come look at the looms and get a better idea of the actual weaving process, I am usually home in the afternoons and visitors are always welcome. Just give me a call to be sure I'm not off playing that day.

2010 Calendar

Here is the list of local events I am planning on being at. Please check back to get the actual dates, I will fill them in as soon as I know when they will be held this year.

Wool and Lamb Festival My booth at Ste. Chapelle
Ste Chapelle Winery
19348 Lowell Rd.
Caldwell, Idaho 83607
11:00 am - 3:00 pm

The Wool and Lamb Festival is returning to Ste. Chapelle Winery.  Come relax at the Winery for a fun afternoon of sheep, food, crafts, and wine. The location is wonderful.

In the past there have been weavers, spinners, photographers, and painters. Different breeds of sheep will be there as well. In 2009 there were great demonstrations of a sheep dog herding a small flock of sheep. It was amazing to watch the dog work.

Part of the Weaving Display in 2005Museum Comes to Life
610 North Julia Davis Drive
Boise, Idaho 83702-7695
www.idahohistory.net/museum
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Not really a selling event, Museum Comes to Life, is held on the last Saturday of September each year. Visitors come to see costumed interpreters demonstrate historical crafts and activities.

The range of displays is amazing. Inside the Museum I have found bobbin lace making and saddle making. Part of the room displays in the Museum are filled with people in period costumes, letting you take a peek back in time at the saloon, the formal parlor, and the smith working on a wagon wheel. The historic houses in Pioneer Village are open to the public and around them you will find paper making, broom making, a working telegraph, a blacksmith, Dutch oven cooking, weaving, and spinning. There are displays of antique engines and fire trucks. Mixed in the crowd there will be people in medieval costumes, civil war uniforms, ladies in fancy hoop skirts, as well as the Idaho Free Trappers in their buckskins. These are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. It's a great place to take the kids to show them how some things were done in "the good old days."

You will find me in the Pioneer Village with the Handweavers Guild of Boise Valley. We usually have weaving demonstrations, spinners, and displays of handwovens. Come see what the Guild members have challenged themselves to weave for the event.
