Weaving Lessons:

I am offering weaving lessons for students in the Boise, Idaho, area.  Lessons are held at my studio with my loom.  So if you don't have a loom yet, this is the perfect way to try weaving and see if you like it before investing in a loom.

Once you learn the basics of weaving, where you go from there is up to you. There is an amazing variety of weave structures and yarns to explore.  Just a few of the possibilities can be found here on my website.  I'm a "structure/pattern weaver."  I love creating designs in what I weave using plain yarn.  Some weavers I know are "color/texture" weavers who love using simple patterns with bright fun yarns.  Which type of a weaver would you be?

Classes can be individual lessons or for small groups.  So grab a friend and learn a new craft together.  Contact me to schedule your weaving lesson.

Beginning Weavingweaving tools

Beginning Weaving class will cover the basics a new weaver needs to get started. Information covered includes weaving equipment, warping a loom, how to read a weaving pattern, fixing errors, and more.

winding a warp

During class students will wind a warp, dress a loom, and weave a sample of basic weave structures.  This takes 12-15 hours of instruction time.  The time can be broken down into 2 to 4 hour sessions.

Bobbin Lace Classes

I am offering Beginning Bobbin Lace classes. There are many types of bobbin lace and the classes will be for Torchon Lace. Torchon is the easiest form of bobbin lace. It is geometric and a great place to start.

Classes will be seven sessions, about two hours each. During these sessions you will build on the basic two stitches used to make Torchon Lace. I have researched places to buy the basic supplies and you can buy every thing you need for less than $100 to get started.  I do not recommend the bobbin lace kits, the pillows are "ok" but there are better options available. Please contact me for more information and to schedule your first lesson.
